Release of Students During School Hours
Release of Students During School Hours
An authorized parent or guardian must report to the school office to sign out the student. (Authorization to release a student must be clearly indicated on the Emergency Authorization Card. Persons on the Emergency Card must be 18 years or older. Students will not be released to minors.)
The parent or authorized adult must go to school office and fill out a half sheet. The student will be called to the office once the form has been signed. Parents must wait in the office or foyer for their student they may not pick up their children directly from the classroom.
CHILDREN WILL NOT BE RELEASED TO INDIVIDUALS NOT LISTED ON THE EMERGENCY CARD. Thus, it is very important to keep these cards current.
**Please note that a parent with a court order prohibiting the other parent from seeing the student must have a copy of that court order on file in the principal’s office. We are unable to prevent a parent from seeing a student without the court order on file.
Tardies
Please avoid unnecessary tardies by planning your morning routine with ample time.
All students arriving after the 8:30am bell has rung need to report to the office where they will receive a tardy slip. This procedure places emphasis on student responsibility and promptness to school.
Frequent tardies without a valid excuse may be considered truancy under state law and may result in a referral to the School Attendance Review Board (SARB).
